I would like to quote Neil deGrasse Tyson,
Imagine picking out a bowl of water from the ocean and saying, there are no fish in it.
That’s the state of our progress now. We have hardly explored any part of the universe, to say that life does not exist on other planets.
Another nice quote from Carl Sagan
The universe is a pretty big place. If it’s just us, seems like an awful waste of space.
The same quote was adapted into the movie Contact (1997)
Daughter: Dad, do you think there are people on other planets?
Dad: I don’t know, Sparks. But I guess I’d say if it is just us… seems like an awful waste of space.
What’s more is Our Civilization, even though we like to think of it as quite progressive, is nothing compared to a slightly intelligent lifeform than us. We are still fighting for fossil fuels (dead plants and animals buried in the sand).
I remember another quote from my favorite video game, The Mass Effect.
Human history is a litany of bloodshed over differing opinions of rulership and the afterlife.
That’s what human civilization is at present.
So, in the best interest of all human beings, we find a way to rise above the difference and work unitedly towards a common goal, i.e., the betterment of humanity through technological advancement and maybe become a multi-planetary species.
